Maritime Movement Disorders Group
The QEII Movement Disorders Clinic was started in 2007 and is directed by Dr. Kerrie Schoffer. It occurs 3 days per month on Friday afternoons.
Please see the information below in preparation for your visit to the clinic.
APPOINTMENTS
Appointments are made for the earliest available clinic date, depending on urgency. It is important that your family doctor or referring physician relay to the clinic if you need to be seen more urgently.
DURING YOUR VISIT
- Family members are encouraged to come with the patient.
-Advance thought should be given to questions. You are encouraged to write them down to help you remember.
- Bring all medications currently being taken and if possible a list of medications previously taken.
- A videotape is taken during most visits. It is used as part of your records and may also be used for educational purposes to teach physicians and students. You will be requested to sign a consent form and taping will only be done if you willingly consent.
RESULTS OF INVESTIGATIONS
We work as a consultant physician to your family doctor. All results are routinely sent to your referring and your family doctor. This includes lab work and imaging investigations.
PRESCRIPTIONS
Suggestions for changes to your prescriptions are often made. Your family doctor can provide refills for these prescriptions - you do not need to call our office.
REPORTS
A full report of your visit will be sent to the physician who referred you to this clinic and often to other physicians involved in your care.
